The next conference of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation (AJF) took place.
According to İdman.biz, the event was attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gaibov, the President of the FDA Rashad Nabiyev, conference participants and other officials. The conference began with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In his opening speech, Nabiev stated that the main goal of the federation is the comprehensive development and popularization of judo, and emphasized that over the past period the number of judo practitioners in the country has grown by more than 50% and exceeded 18 thousand people. He noted that the number of female athletes has especially increased.
The president of the federation said that the high level of training of athletes at the level of clubs and national teams is primarily associated with improving the quality of coaching in the country. In this regard, the work done in this direction as a result of mutual cooperation with the Academy of the International Judo Federation is of great importance.
He emphasized that comprehensive support for sports, including judo, from the country’s leadership is the foundation of the achieved achievements and successes.
In his speech, Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gaibov positively assessed the activities of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation in recent years and noted the work done towards the popularization of judo, especially the organization of competitions in a form that meets international standards.
Further, according to the agenda of the meeting, the report on activities for 2022-2023 was presented by FDA Secretary General Rashad Rasullu. The report was approved by the conference participants.
The FDA strategy for 2024-2028 was presented to the meeting participants and adopted by vote. In addition, the Federation Charter in the 5th edition was approved.
It was reported that Ragif Abbasov submitted an application for early termination of his powers in the FDA executive committee. The candidacy of Rashad Rasullu as a member of the executive committee was proposed and accepted.
Rashad Rasullah was nominated to be the executive vice president of the FDA and was approved for this position by the members of the federation.
Then a vote took place to elect members and the chairman of the FDA Control and Audit Commission. The conference approved Movlud Miraliev, Laman Karimli and Orkhan Asadov as members of the committee, and Movlud Miraliev was appointed chairman of the committee.
