Good eating habits and physical activity routines are key to taking care of the family’s well-being even during the holidays. Ricardo Ernesto Ramírez Orozco, head of the Department of Nutrition at the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes explained.

The specialist recognized that although it is valid to have some snacks and be a little flexible with the daily routine of the family, it is essential to do so in harmony with nutritious foods and physical activity to ensure the well-being of our loved ones.

He recalled that vacation periods also provide an opportunity to start establishing activation routines, which are offered in attractive ways in summer courses or, from home, starting with daily objectives of outdoor play and socialization.

Ramírez Orozco explained that poor planning of activities can cause children to have more leisure moments, excessive use of mobile devices, or children who tend to eat out of boredom.

In that sense, the head of the department made some suggestions to live in a healthier way during these holidays, for example: avoid the temptations of junk food as much as possible, take the time to find out what is in the pantry and what is offered for. families, establish good habits and, if possible, consult specialists and nutritional services.
