ORF’s program focuses on the European Day of Protest for Disability Equality

Vienna (OTS) On Thursday, April 25, 2024, the corporate dialogue Project Zero took place at the ORF media campus in Vienna, which aims – initiated by the Essl Foundation – to talk about the employment of people with disabilities in companies and the potential of skilled workers with disabilities. Project Zero is a non-profit initiative of the Essl Foundation and is committed to the rights of people with disabilities worldwide in accordance with the UN Convention, which Austria has also ratified. The dialogues with companies of the same name are an initiative to convince many companies in Austria that it makes economic sense to employ disabled people based on their talents and that it represents significant added value for the economy and society. With examples of good practice and keynotes, new perspectives and solution approaches are expressed in the company dialogue to sustainably increase inclusion and diversity in companies.

For the ORF, too, the goal was to promote the exchange about the employment of people with disabilities by organizing a Zero Project corporate dialogue and showing the potential of skilled workers with disabilities, which contributes to a visible increase in added value enterprise. In addition to the General Director of ORF Mag. Roland Weißmann and Professor Pius Strobl, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility ORF, numerous entrepreneurs from the local economy were present.

The corporate dialogue at Zero Project on the ORF media campus was moderated by Miriam Labus and Stefan Lenglinger.

Award to ORF for social-ecological commitment

As part of the Zero Project corporate dialogue, the non-profit IT company AfB (“Work for Disabled People”) presented the ORF with a certificate for its social-ecological commitment in the IT sector for the third time. Director General ORF Mag. Franz-Joseph Huainigg, Accessibility Officer at ORF, accepted the award for the collaboration with the non-profit AfB GmbH and K-Businesscom as ORF’s IT outsourcing partner during the event.
