India is the largest democracy in the world. Voting for the country’s 18th Lok Sabha elections began on April 19. There will be a total of seven phases of voting in the country. The second phase of voting is underway on Friday (April 26). Along with the common people, the stars of the Indian showbiz arena are also going to vote at the booths.
Prakash Raj, the popular actor of South Indian cinema, cast his vote in Bengaluru today. Leaving the polling station, he told the local media, ‘We have voted against the politics of hatred and division that we have seen in the last decade.’
Prakash Raj then recorded a video sitting in his car. Showing the ink mark on his finger from the polling station, the actor said, ‘I voted. I voted for change, I voted against hate. My vote represents my beliefs. Please go to the center to vote and change.’
Ahead of India’s Lok Sabha elections, there are rumors that Prakash Raji, an anti-BJP candidate, is going to join the BJP. After sharing a post on microblogging site X (Twitter), Prakash Raj wrote, ‘I think they tried. They realized, they weren’t rich (ideal) enough to buy me. What do you think guys!’
Several political parties want Prakash Raj to join their party. But Prakash Raj is displeased with that. In an interview given last January, he said, ‘I have received offers from three political parties to become a candidate for the Lok Sabha polls. I have not cleared. Because they wanted me, they didn’t try to understand my political philosophy. I don’t want to fall into this trap.’
Prakash Raj made his big screen debut in 1988 through a Kannada language film. The multi-time National Film Award winning actor has acted in numerous films in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi and English languages.
