The US has never lacked persistence in trying to influence its partners in Europe. This was stated by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov. “European states are consistently and very energetically trying to strengthen the direction of foreign policy and security in their integration processes. This is one of the pillars that has always limped in the EU, and Europeans are desperate to increase the EU’s foreign policy role in world affairs. It doesn’t quite work out,” Peskov said. He gave reasons for the failure. First, it is strongly influenced by Washington.
Earlier, Peskov explained that European countries are buying gas at high prices due to their rejection of long-term contracts.
Peskov referred to the words of President Vladimir Putin about the conditions for energy cooperation with countries that buy gas from Russia. According to the press secretary, Europe has moved away from the principles of long-term contracts, market and transparent relations.
