“Sorry if I exist!”, this evening at 9.40pm on Rai 1 the 2014 film with Paola Cortellesi. Here’s the plot. Serena Bruno comes from a small town in Abruzzo, she graduated in architecture with top marks, has a master’s degree and she knows many foreign languages.
He works in London, where his talent and dedication are adequately appreciated. But she is very homesick, and Serena decides to return to Italy: naturally in Rome she cannot find a job even remotely comparable to the one she had in England, and she gets by by doing three jobs well below her skills and competences – interior designer at the Paradise of the bedroom, designer of funeral chapels for rich peasants, and waitress in a luxury restaurant.
