The General Manager of EP Petroecuador, Marcela Reinoso, together with the Governor of Esmeraldas, Colonel (SP) Javier Buitrón, and the Political Head of Esmeraldas, Víctor Orellana, held a working meeting to review the projects developed by the company, in addition to promoting joint efforts, according to the competencies of each institution, for the benefit of this province and the country.
The Head of EP Petroecuador was committed to managing the pending commitments of the public company, in relation to social compensation works, among others. The purpose is to continue with responsible work that benefits the citizens of Esmerald, located in the area of influence of the oil infrastructure. Currently EP Petroecuador has approximately 900 workers, mostly local, who contribute to the refining and transportation operations in Esmeraldas.
“As public officials we must serve the country and this is a way to demonstrate what we are doing at EP Petroecuador, aligned with the guidelines of the President of the Republic, Daniel Noboa, and the Minister of Energy and Mines, Andrea Arrobo,” the General Manager emphasized.
For his part, Governor Buitrón stated that in accordance with the mandate of President Noboa, this entity is working hard on security issues in the province, with good results that are reflected in the decrease in insecurity rates. He reiterated that joint actions with State institutions are essential to move Esmeraldas forward.
In this sense, the public oil company supports the security contingent, providing its facilities so that the uniformed personnel can stay and continue with their tasks in this province.
It is important to note that EP Petroecuador has invested approximately USD 189 million in the social sphere of Esmeraldas over the last 24 years.
