Former US President Donald Trump on Saturday canceled a campaign meeting with supporters in the American city of Wilmington (North Carolina) due to an approaching storm, Day.Az reports citing TASS.

“As you know, the weather will be bad. <...> First and foremost, we want to make sure everyone is safe. It is most important. It seems that thunder, lightning, and a rather serious storm are awaiting us. I’m really sorry. But we will definitely hold [митинг]. We will do it better and on a larger scale,” Trump said, addressing the crowd by telephone. The audio message was broadcast by the YouTube channel of the conservative media company RSBN.

The US presidential elections will take place on November 5th. Trump received the required number of delegate votes to be nominated as the Republican candidate for head of state. Current American leader Joe Biden, who is running for a second term, has secured the support of a sufficient number of delegates from the Democratic Party. Thus, the fight will predictably unfold between the same candidates as four years ago, when Biden defeated Trump, who was seeking re-election to the highest government office.
