Petroecuador warns of control inspections at service stations in the province of Azuay to verify the normal dispatch of fuel.

Petroecuador ordered the delivery of fuel during extended hours to guarantee the supply of hydrocarbons to the province of Azuay, the state oil company reported this Friday, March 22, 2024.

The dispatch is carried out from the Pascuales Clean Products Terminal, located in the province of Guayas, after crowds of vehicles were recorded on Thursday due to lack of gasoline in Cuenca and other cities in Azuay.

According to Petroecuador, this situation responded to “the adverse weather conditions typical of maritime logistics in La Libertad, Santa Elena, (which) did not allow the unloading of import vessels.”

The state oil company has planned to resume the normal distribution of fuel from the Cuenca Clean Products Terminal, starting on Saturday, March 23, 2024. In addition, it indicated that “control inspections are carried out at the service stations in the province of Azuay to “verify the normal dispatch and stock of fuel to meet the needs of citizens.”
