The circulars regarding the admission of students to the 51 Music High Schools and the 9 Artistic High Schools of the Country were issued by the Ministry of Education.
The circular defines the dates for the submission of online applications, the parents’ obligations as well as the required supporting documents. In order to determine the dates of the exams, information will be provided in time by the Ministry of Education.
Music schools
In the 1st class of the Music Schools (High Schools), students who graduated from Primary Schools are enrolled, if they succeed in the exams conducted for the selection of students who will study in the 1st class of the Music Schools (High Schools).
Therefore, for the admission of students to the Music Schools for the school year 2024-2025, the parents/guardians of the prospective students from May 13 to May 31, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. jointly submit an application for participation electronically or in any other convenient way in the selection process only at the Music School of the area where the candidate lives. The parents/guardians of the candidate students of the Music Schools of Attica, together with the application to the Music School, must send a utility bill (water supply or electricity or telephone) or other appropriate means of proof that explicitly proves the address of the permanent residence candidate.
If the required consent of the parents/guardians is not present for the participation in the exams in question, the candidate may not participate in them, unless a court decision (temporary order, decision on interim measures, final court decision) is submitted that the allows. Parents/guardians are obliged to send electronically (by e-mail) or in any other convenient way to the Music School in addition to the application for participation in the exams in question and the following documents: 1) utility bill (water supply or electricity or telephone) or other convenient a means of proof from which the address of the permanent residence of the candidate can be explicitly proved 2) a copy of the identity card of the parents/guardians or a copy of the identity card of the parent/guardian 3) a court decision (temporary order, injunction, final court decision) if and as long as there is no consent of both parents/guardians.
It is also possible to present a certificate of non-exercise of legal remedies, in order to make sure that the irrevocability of the court decision has been reached until 16.09.2021 – and therefore the 1519 AK does not apply -, in accordance with what is stipulated in the under data Φ1/117162/GD4 /20-09-2021 circular of the Ministry of Education (announcement to the public on 21-9-2021). The Directors of the Music Schools, after checking the applications, log them by sending the protocol number to the applicants.
For more information regarding the electronic submission of the application, interested parents/guardians may contact the Music School, where they submitted their application, by telephone or by e-mail. The Directors of the Music Schools shall send, after the end of the process of sending electronic applications of parents/guardians, i.e. on May 31, 2023, the total number of recorded applications submitted to their school to the e-mail address [email protected].
Art schools
In the 1st class of the Art Schools (High Schools), students who have graduated from Primary Schools are enrolled, if they pass the exams conducted for the selection of students who will study in the 1st class of the Art Schools (High Schools).
Three directions operate in the Art Schools: a) Visual Arts b) Theater-Cinematography c) Dance. For the admission of students to the Art Schools for the school year 2024-2025, the parents/guardians of the candidate students from May 13 to May 31, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. jointly submit an application for participation electronically or in any other convenient way in the selection process (in which they can declare up to two directions) only at the Art School of the region where the candidate lives.
The parents/guardians of the candidate students of the Art Schools of Attica, together with the application to the Art School, must send a utility bill (water or electricity or telephone) or other appropriate means of proof that explicitly proves the address of the permanent residence candidate. If the required consent of the parents/guardians is not present for the participation in the exams in question, the candidate may not participate in them, unless a court decision (temporary order, decision on interim measures, final court decision) is submitted that the allows.
In order to participate in dance-oriented exams, parents/guardians, in addition to the participation application, send Medical Certificates of health and good physical/orthopedic condition from a Pathologist/Pediatrician and from an Orthopedic doctor respectively.
Therefore, parents/guardians are obliged to send electronically (by e-mail) or in any other convenient way to the Art School, in addition to the application for participation in the exams in question, the following documents:
1) utility bill (water supply or electricity or telephone) or other appropriate means of proof from which the address of the permanent residence of the candidate can be explicitly proven
2) copy of parents/guardian ID or copy of parent/guardian ID 3) for the direction of the dance:
i. Medical Certificate from a Pathologist or Pediatrician,
ii. Orthopedic Medical Certificate 4) certificate in accordance with articles 53 and 54 of Law 4823/2021 (A’ 136) (in case the student is entitled to be examined orally)
Court decision (temporary order, injunction, final court decision) if and as long as there is no consent of both parents/guardians. The exam program, exam subjects, grading and student registrations are regulated by the above-mentioned YA. on the subject: “Operation of Art Schools” (Y.A. with no. prot. 21320/D2/24-02-2021, Official Gazette B΄ 886, error correction Official Gazette B΄ 1065/19-03-2021). Regarding the registrations, the circular of the Ministry of Education under data Φ1/117162/GD4/20-09-2021 (announcement to the public on 21-9-2021) also applies. The Art Schools, after drawing up the examination program in accordance with the provisions of the above Y.A. on the subject: “Operation of Art Schools” (Y.A. with no. prot. 21320/Δ2/24-02-2021, Official Gazette B΄ 886, error correction Official Gazette B΄ 1065/19-03-2021), update with each convenient way to all candidates.
