jpnn.comJAKARTA – Executive Director of the Indonesia Political Review (IPR) Ujang Komarudin believes that PDI Perjuangan will choose to be outside the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka government for the 2024-2029 period.
“If I see it like that, the spirituality of the PDI Perjuangan is like that. Well, this is what it looks like,” said Ujang Komarudin to the media crew, Friday (26/4).
According to him, the PDI Perjuangan’s political position towards Prabowo-Gibran was similar to that of the red political parties during the Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) administration.
PDI Perjuangan, said Ujang, became the opposition to the government by controlling important posts in the legislature.
Meanwhile, PDI Perjuangan placed its elite, the late Taufiq Kiemas, as Chairman of the MPR during the SBY administration.
He predicts that PDI Perjuangan will get the position of DPR Chairperson, which is occupied by Puan Maharani, to become the opposition to Prabowo-Gibran.
“It’s more or less the same now, Puan is Chair of the DPR, that’s how it is, yes, but the PDI Perjuangan can be in opposition. I see it that way,” said the political observer from Al-Azhar University, Jakarta.
Ujang felt that it was difficult for the PDI Perjuangan to join the Prabowo-Gibran era government because of the existence of the figure of Joko Widodo alias Jokowi.
IPR Executive Director Komarudin believes that PDI Perjuangan will bring the political party bearing the white snout bull symbol into opposition for the next government.
