Speaking on this occasion, the first president of the Court of Appeal of Laâyoune, Ibrahim Ben Tazarte, indicated that the opening of the judicial year constitutes a major event to assess the achievements accomplished and shed light, in all impartiality and objectivity, on the points of strength and weaknesses which marked this year’s performance, as well as on the measures taken to remedy them, the aim being, according to him, to improve quality and achieve greater judicial efficiency for the new judicial year.
The results were “very positive” thanks to long-term work, rejoiced Mr. Ben Tazarte, stressing that this judicial district was ranked at the top of Moroccan courts in terms of the rate of cases judged compared to those recorded. which reached 106.25%.
He noted that the rate of cases registered increased from 62,821 during the year 2022 to 83,820 in 2023. As for cases judged, they recorded an increase from 64,561 cases during the year 2022 to 89,042 cases in 2023, he said, stressing that the most important indicator is the reduction in pending cases from 10,417 in 2022 to 4,999 in 2023.
The judicial district of the Court of Appeal of Laâyoune ensured, this year, to materialize all of its judicial centers, he said, noting that the registered cases amount to 1,857 in the center of Boujdour, 838 in the center of Tarfaya and 123 in the center of Bir Gandouz.
He reported a high rate of liquidation of cases in 2023 in these centers, with 351 cases at the Boujdour Resident Judge Center and 10 at the Tarfaya center, while no cases remained pending at the Center. resident judge of Bir Gandouz.
For his part, the King’s Attorney General at the Court of Appeal of Laâyoune, Mohamed Raoui stressed that the annual action plan of the public prosecutor during the past judicial year included three main axes aimed at strengthening the role of the judicial authority in terms of supervision, monitoring and implementation of the principles of the code of judicial ethics.
Mr. Raoui underlined that the complaints filed before the public prosecutor at the Laâyoune Court of Appeal, during the year 2023, numbered 853, including 20 complaints remaining pending in 2022 and 833 complaints registered. over the past year, when 846 new complaints were filed, representing a completion rate of 99.17%.
Concerning the minutes, the King’s Attorney General explained that the total number of files processed by the public prosecutor during this year amounts to 3,771, including 3,693 files recorded during the previous year, noting that 3,679 files were liquidated, thus achieving a completion rate of 99.94%.
This solemn audience took place in the presence of the wali of the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region, governor of the province of Laâyoune, Abdeslam Bekrate, representatives of the Ministry of Justice, the Superior Council of the Judicial Power, the public prosecutor’s office , magistrates reporting to this court, in addition to elected officials and other personalities.
