Kolkata Knight Riders have built a run mountain in their eighth match against Punjab Kings. After losing the toss, Phil Salt and Sunil Narine stormed to bat and scored a massive 261 for 6 at Eden Gardens on Friday night. Which is the fourth highest team collection in IPL history. Punjab need to score 262 runs to win.
Narine and Salt stormed the opening pair. Kolkata scored 138 runs in 10.1 overs in their stormy batting. Their batting storm looked set to record the highest team total in the IPL. But during this run, Narine scored 71 runs off 32 balls with 9 fours and 4 sixes. Salt was also out at the time of 163 runs. He scored 75 runs off 37 balls with 6 fours and 6 sixes.
Venkatesh Iyer, Andre Russell and Shreyas Iyer continued the storm despite the return of Narine-Salt. That took Kolkata’s run to 261.
