IWA 2023: The UM5 of Rabat shines in Las Vegas with 5 gold medals and 13 innovation masters
Rabat – The Mohammed V University of Rabat (UM5) won, through its Technological Innovation Center of the Mohammadia School of Engineers (EMI), five Gold medals and 13 innovation masters in the international competition Innovation Week America “IWA 2023”, held online on September 16 in Las Vegas.
In a press release, UM5 indicates that these distinctions were awarded to Professor Ammor Hassan, director of the EMI technological innovation center and his team, made up of Qanoune Samiya, Er-reguig Zakaria, Baayer Jalal, Saim Mohammed Marouane , Alami Mohamed and Khadiri Mouna.
These awards were obtained for their innovative projects entitled “Invention of a pioneering Moroccan by radio frequency for the detection of breast cancer” and “Design of an original miniaturized 4G antenna in microstrip technology for the new generation of mobile telephony minimizing the effect thermal effects of GSM on the human head.
De même que pour les projets nommés “Detecting Interatrial Septal Aneurysm using Deep Learning”, “Invention of an Original Tetra-Generations Patch Antenna for the New Generation of Mobile Telephony Minimizing the Thermal Effect of GSM on the Human Head and Hand” et “System with smart micro-cellular antenna to fight against cheating in exams”.
Organized by the OFEED association with the support of the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA), this competition saw the participation of 19 countries and regions. A total of 48 nominees were selected for the grand prize and 636 awards and 144 innovation masters were awarded, notes the University.
