In the final declaration sanctioning their work, the speakers called on the international community to urgently commit to strengthening confidence in the paths of cooperation for global development and to intensifying international solidarity in order to ensure a profound transformation of the development in the countries of the South and to reduce the economic gap with the countries of the North.

They also underlined the importance of joint efforts of all countries to strengthen global stability in all its aspects as a basis for lasting peace, and the need for the cooperation of regional and international efforts to guarantee a stable world without risks. posed by wars and secessionist tendencies.

The Declaration notes that “any interference in the internal affairs of States constitutes a violation of the Charter of the United Nations and the principle of good neighborliness, with emphasis on the importance of respect for unity, sovereignty and integrity territorial rights of States and the peaceful settlement of conflicts.

In the same vein, “the war and humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza were condemned and the international community was called upon to put an immediate end to it, in accordance with international law, in order to preserve the lives of innocent people and guarantee stability and peace in the world”, reads the Declaration.

The participants also underlined the need to strengthen the work of Arab, African and Latin American parliaments, including Senates and equivalent Councils, in their diversity and richness, in order to strengthen their control over the performance of governments and their compliance with national and international commitments, and to play their role in the adoption of legislation aimed at promoting economic and commercial cooperation between Africa, the Arab world, Latin America and the countries of the South.

Placed under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, this two-day conference focused on the theme “the role of national parliaments and regional and continental parliamentary unions in Africa, the Arab world and Latin America in the promoting strategic partnerships and achieving integration and common development.

This meeting, organized at the initiative of the House of Advisors in collaboration with the Association of Senates, Shura and equivalent Councils of Africa and the Arab world and the South-South Dialogue Forum, is part of the support of the leadership of the Kingdom of Morocco, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, in the launch of any development and solidarity initiative aimed at strengthening cooperation with the countries of the South.
