Burkina/Banakélédaga Bridge: Minister Sorgho satisfied with the work carried out by a Malian company
Ouagadougou, April 30, 2024 (AIB) – The Minister of Infrastructure and Opening Up, Adama Luc Sorgho, said he was satisfied on Friday with the progress of construction work on the Banakélédaga bridge, in the province of Houet (Tops -Bassins), executed 56% by a Malian company.
“After what we heard from the inspection mission, we are reassured and we urge the company to continue this dynamic to deliver the work on time.” declared the Minister in charge of Infrastructure, Adama Luc Sorgho, visiting the construction site.
Mr. Sorgho recalled that this work, the work of which was 56% executed against a deadline consumed of 58% by the Malian company BECM-CG, is close to the government’s heart. This is why he invited the company to double the work teams, so that the work does not affect the mobility of the population.
According to the director general of the Burkina Infrastructure Works Agency (AGETIB), Mathieu Lompo, the major innovation is the contractualization of a ten-year guarantee.
“And the good news, the company and its partners plan to deliver the work next August if there is no bad weather, because all arrangements have been made to allow the company to carry out the work properly on schedule,” continued Mr. Lompo.
The first manager of AGETIB indicated that 36 other works are being carried out as part of the same project in 6 regions of the country.
With a total cost of 1,048,924,373 FCFA and with an execution time of 8 months, the infrastructure was financed by the World Bank, through the Emergency Territorial Development and Resilience Project (PUDTR).
The Banakélédaga bridge, located in the commune of Bama, will facilitate the mobility of people and goods in all seasons and contribute to the economic and social development of the villages served.
