US authorities began an investigation after discovering the violent murder of a baby Bottle nose dolphin of which they found his body with multiple shots in Louisiana.

The discovery reported on a Louisiana beach indicates that the body of the Dolphin, who had gunshot wounds to the head, spine and chest area with a perforation in the heart, was abandoned in West Mae’s Beachin Cameron County.

After the incident, the state police mention having activated an intense search protocol in conjunction with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to find the person or persons responsible for the cruel murder. Likewise, NOAA shared a statement mentioning the discovery and removal of the dolphin’s body.

“A member of the public reported the stranding to the Southeast Marine Mammal Stranding Hotline. “NOAA’s stranding network partner, Audubon Aquarium Rescue, recovered the animal and transported it to the Audubon Nature Institute in New Orleans for a necropsy.”

He NOAA claims to work hand in hand with other organizations to find those responsible for the heinous crime and at the same time announce a reward of up to 20 thousand dollars to anyone who provides information that leads to the identification and capture of criminals.

Currently, the bottlenose dolphin is a marine species protected by the Marine Mammal Protection Law in United States.

It is estimated that in the Gulf of Mexico They inhabit 31 different populations of the species, of which the baby found dead was a part. Therefore, according to United States law, any crime against these animals is considered a serious action and is punished with a heavy hand.
