(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 01 – The uncertain weather slows down tourism a bit, but does not slow it down: for the May 1st Labor Day long weekend, an average of 71% of the rooms available online were booked. Overall, between today and Sunday, approximately 5.6 million visitors are expected in official accommodation facilities, a slight decrease (-200 thousand) compared to last year, when the holiday fell on a Monday. This is what emerges from the monitoring of the Cst – Florence Tourist Study Center for Assoturismo Confesercenti, which detected the saturation of the national accommodation offer available for the May 1st long weekend, in the period 1-5 May 2024, on the Online Travel Agency portals. Once again, the market will be driven by the very popular cities and art centers, with an occupancy rate of 83% of the available offer. This rate, however, stops at 70% for structures in hilly locations and lakes and drops to 69% for seaside locations, 67% for spa locations and 65% for mountain ones. Among the Regions, a decent flow of bookings was recorded especially in Lazio (83%) and Tuscany (79%). Values above the average are also found in Veneto (78%), Friuli-Venezia Giulia (76%), Emilia-Romagna (72%), Campania (72%) and Sardinia (72%). (HANDLE).
