Bulgaria celebrates 148 years since the April Uprising. Today, the events of the memorial days will be remembered with reenactments in Koprivshtitsa and Klisura.
These are the cities from where the flame of the uprising started. The culmination in Panagyurishte is a solemn dawn-check this evening, writes BNT.
The events in Klisura already started last night with a dawn rally. Tribute to the feat of the fallen was also paid by kneeling. Wreaths and flowers were presented as a token of appreciation. Acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev also attended the celebrations.
„It is a great honor for me to be in the Gorge tonightwith descendants of these glorious patriots, because – I am convinced, every home and every family here jealously preserves in its ancestral memory a particle of the heroism of its forebear, who participated in the April epic, a particle that has been transmitted and remains for nearly a century and a half in the hearts of their descendants,” the prime minister pointed out. According to him, Klisura is dignity, longing and enthusiasm, unshakable determination against UNfreedom, against oppression, against injustice.
