The concert program “Pushkin Without Borders,” dedicated to the 225th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin, was presented on the stage of the International Mugham Center in Baku with great success, Day.Az reports.

The concert program is organized within the framework of the “BakuOperArt” project, which has been running since 2016. Its main goal is to popularize opera and chamber vocal music in Azerbaijan. The musical director of the project is senior teacher of the Baku Music Academy named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli, pianist Yulia Kerimova.

This year the project became international, along with the honored artists of Azerbaijan Farida Mamedova (soprano) and Ilham Nazarov (countertenor), the program featured a guest from Russia – laureate of international competitions Alexander Sukhanov (baritone).

The brilliant word of the great classic Alexander Pushkin, sounded in a brilliant interpretation by the artists who presented both an anthology of chamber and vocal music of Russian and Azerbaijani composers, and scenes from the operas of Mikhail Glinka, Sergei Rachmaninov and Pyotr Tchaikovsky, this evening once again confirmed the inexhaustibility and limitlessness of possibilities art as a conductor of spirituality and high culture.

The high professionalism and skill of the performers, the variety of timbres and subtlety of interpretations did not leave anyone indifferent in the auditorium. The grateful audience enthusiastically greeted the artists with applause and flowers.
