The Attorney General’s Office has ordered the opening of a disciplinary investigation against the general secretary (e) of the Family Subsidy Superintendency, Javier Eduardo Rocha Amarís, for alleged inappropriate payment for a transportation service during the pandemicwhen officials carried out their work from home.
The Second Delegate for State Contracting has argued that, apparently, the bilateral agreement agreed with the Virgilio Barco National Real Estate Agency was not carried out, despite the fact that the disbursement of nearly $400 million was authorized, which could have represented a financial detriment to public finances.

The control body has indicated that both Rocha Amarís and the coordinator of the Administrative Management Group, William Alberto Acosta Romero, who are also involved in the file, were part of the operating committee and could have incurred irregularities when signing the certification of compliance with the contract and its corresponding settlement document.
In addition, the entity will investigate the participation of the contractor José Ignacio Sarmiento, who performed public functions together with Acosta in supervising the legal business.
With this procedural stage and the request for evidence made by the entity, the aim is to verify the veracity of the reported facts, determine if they constitute a disciplinary offense and establish if those involved acted under any cause of exclusion of liability.
