BANGALORE: Former India captain and commentator Aakash Chopra has likened the IPL team Rajasthan Royals to Carlos Brathwaite, who led the West Indies to victory in the final over of the Twenty20 World Cup. Chopra gave eight out of 10 marks to Rajasthan for excellence in a video on a YouTube channel.

‘I give eight marks for the performance of Rajasthan Royals. They hit four fours in the last over. It was like the performance of Carlos Brathwaite in the 2016 Twenty20 World Cup final. Because they brought four top foreign players to the team at a cost of Rs 5 crore.

They changed the very nature of the auction. Now they are a solid team. Jose Butler, Yashwasi Jaiswal, Devdutt Padikkal and Sanju Samson are the four players in the squad.

In midfield they have Shimron Hetmeyer and a dozen Russey Wanderers. Along with Ashwin and Chahal in bowling, there is the famous Krishna and Trent Bolt. You can play Nathan Coulter Nile too. ‘ Aakash Chopra analyzes.

In the climax of the star auction, Rajasthan won four players in a row. When other franchises’ pockets were empty, Rajasthan acquired New Zealand all-rounders Jimmy Neesham, Daryl Mitchell, Australia pacer Nathan Coulternail and South African batsman Russey Wander Dasan at base price.
