During a specialized police operation in the Pleven region, four people were arrested, four fast-track and two pre-trial proceedings were initiated. This was announced by the press center of the Regional Directorate (OD) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Pleven.
A specialized police action is aimed at countering crime and preserving public order. The forces of all regional departments, “Criminal”, “Economic”, “Road” and “Security Police” under the Regional Directorate, as well as the Zonal Gendarmerie Department in Pleven, are included.
The main highlights of the checks are related to crimes against the person and property of citizens, theft, combating the possession and distribution of drugs, the distribution of contraband goods, control of drivers for impaired driving, driving after the use of drugs and alcohol, as well as compliance with speed regimes , the police added.
465 people and 283 motor vehicles were checked. Inspections were carried out at ten points for ferrous and non-ferrous metals, twelve pawnshops, eight car morgues, car repair shops and depots, at 20 drinking and entertainment establishments and at 25 commercial establishments.
Eight crimes related to violations of the Forestry Act and the Road Traffic Act, as well as drugs, were registered in the district. 57 acts were drawn up. 12 protocols have been prepared under Art. 64 and Art. 65 of the Law on the Interior. In the course of the special action, five acts and findings protocols were drawn up by other bodies.
The materials from a specialized action were reported to the District Prosecutor’s Office in Pleven by jurisdiction. Work on the cases continues.
The specialized operation was carried out in connection with an order of the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with the aim of effectively countering crime, protecting public order and ensuring police presence in vulnerable areas, as well as according to the schedule of the General Directorate “National Police”, OD told BTA of the Ministry of the Interior in Pleven.
