by time news

Elias Psinakis took the place of Despina Vandi on the J2US jury on Saturday night (4/27), where he lashed out against Mary Synatsakis.

After the appearance of Ian Stratis and Penelope Anastasopoulou, Ilias Psinakis wanted to point out to the singer that before meeting him on the show he did not like him because of his partner, Mary Synatsakis.

“Mr. Stratis, I had never seen you live. You are amazing. I didn’t like you because I don’t like your wife, for my own reasons since #metoo! You are amazing, I stayed! Mrs. Anastasopoulou, I am your fan. It’s not fair for everyone to try and come out a goddess!”, said Ilias Psinakis.

Ian Stratis responded with a frozen smile, while Penelope Anastasopoulou also showed that she was surprised by what she was hearing.

The two artists were backstage at the show, with Katerina Stikoudi noticing that something was happening. Penelope Anastasopoulou reacted by saying: “It’s bad to use such a serious issue as #MeToo to dislike someone.” Ian Stratis was standing next to her, clearly embarrassed.

The presenter Nikos Koklonis pointed out that everyone stands by the victims and that no one should degrade the #MeToo movement in any way. He then gave the floor to Ilias Psinakis, who, addressing Penelope Anastasopoulou, broke out against Mary Synatsakis.

“Ms. Anastasopoulou, can you hear me? I certainly respect #MeToo and I was one of the first to support women if you look back in history. I speak from personal experience. We were on the X-Factor and at one point I do what I take off – in agreement with Katerina Lioliou – and well the bra, and the very next day Mr. Stratis’s wife – no need to name names – started a #MeToo and everyone called me “rapist “. I don’t care about that either, I’m baked. But Mrs. Lioliou with this intervention of this lady, having #MeToo as a flag… Mrs. Lioliou was crying for a week because everyone had fallen for her. #MeToo is very good, but it is belittled by some people who take advantage of it to sell a pair of clothes” said Ilias Psinakis.

“It wasn’t clear. If we have a difference with someone, we solve it personally” replied Penelope Anastasopoulou, with Ian Stratis adding: “And not on television”.

The incident that caused the conflict between Synatsakis and Psinakis

In 2022, Ilias Psinakis was – initially as a guest and then as a permanent member – on the X-Factor jury. At that time, the backstage of the show was presented by Katerina Lioliou with Ilias Bogdanos. In one of the live shows, Elias Psinakis was backstage and “just for fun” he turned Katerina Lioliou’s back to the camera and pretended to take down her bra.

This move of the manager was then commented on social media and beyond. One of the people who had taken a stand against this was Mary Synatsakis, who has proven that she is particularly sensitive to such issues.

“The “loving” comments to Christina Bomba about what she is allowed to wear now that she is a mother, as well as the absolutely sexist comments and gestures of Psinakis in a nationwide broadcast, are sides of the same Patriarchal coin that moves our society. We will wear whatever we want and not allow anyone to stretch their arms without consent. Fortunately, it’s not 1992 anymore,” wrote Mary Synatsaki at the time.

Ilias Psinakis did not forget the then match against Synatsakis and found the opportunity on Saturday night (27/4) to break out.

Psinakis after the show: Synatsaki is the #MeToo crusader

After the end of the show on Saturday night, Elias Psinakis spoke to the television cameras in the studio of the Alpha show and explained the reasons why he does not like Mary Synatsakis. The well-known manager mentioned the scene where he had shown Katerina Lioliou’s bust on the X-Factor and said: “The problem I had was with this lady who is married to her coach, Mr. Stratis, who is wonderful and big artist. Mr. Stratis was not bothered by what I said, he reacted very intelligently, he said “vote for us” and he is a very gentleman”.

To the question if what Ms. Synatsaki had said at the time “do you think it was unfair to you?”, Ilias Psinakis answered: “No, it was obscene. Not to my face, I don’t care. But it started with metoo, as the crusader of #MeToo, calling me a rapist and everyone starts shouting and cursing Ms. Lioliou, who for a week was crying and hiding inside her house. Because he probably didn’t deal with Sheikh Shu’s dragon properly to put him in his place.”

Ilias Psinakis did not stop there and talked about the clothes advertised by Mary Synatsakis on social media. “I think it’s obscene to sell a pair of clothes to use such a great and holy movement. You shouldn’t take it in your mouth, it only helps, this movement can’t sell underwear,” said the well-known manager.

The answer of Mary Synatsakis

On Sunday morning (28/4), Mary Synatsaki responded through a story on her personal Instagram account, emphasizing that Elias Psinaki’s behavior towards Katerina Lioliou was sexist and that if he only wanted to sell her clothes, he would not have spoken even.

Synatsaki’s post

“Regarding yesterday’s “show”. There are two things that are both equally obvious: One is the behavior of Mr. Psinakis towards Ms. Lioliou. This is something anyone can see by just googling, Psinaki-Lioliou. The pre-arrangement excuse – if there was one – does not invalidate the act. A man opens a woman’s bust, then turns her around and takes it down in public, all on a prime-time music television program. My comment about sexism and gestures I guess is obvious. The second is the influence of Mr. Psinakis on Lifestyle issues for many years. So I think that if you are interested in selling your underwear, you need his good word and not his dislike. It’s obvious that if my target was my underwear I should have kept quiet.”

Katerina Lioliou responded to Hlias Psinakis about what the manager said in the episode of J2US, regarding the old incident where he had pulled down her clothes to show her breasts in the X-Factor. Hlias Psinakis said that for his move then, he had first agreed with the singer.

However, in today’s post on Instagram, Katerina Lioliou made it clear that there was no agreement between them at the time, to proceed with such an indecent move and she is reserved for his behavior.

Katerina Lioliou characteristically wrote: “I was surprised to learn that in the framework of the J2US show, an issue that concerns me and which I thought had ended came back. So I remind you that two years ago Mr. Psinakis behaved indecently against my face and dignity with actions which I did not follow up by accepting his subsequent appeals and apology. Recently, unfortunately, this time without me being present, he repeats the same behavior by insulting me again falsely claiming, as many persons are in a position to know, that his previous vulgar behavior towards me was allegedly the product of our prior agreement. I am very sorry for his behavior, for which I reserve and express my admiration, appreciation and support for any social movement that is against abuse and harassment.”
