Oman announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup on Wednesday (May 1, 2024). New captain batting all-rounder Aqib Ilyas will lead this team. 36-year-old Sultan Ahmed is a surprise in the team. He made his debut in the 2016 World Cup and led the team in the 2021 World Cup.

The list of bowlers includes Bilal Khan, Kalimullah, Fayaz Butt and Shakeel Ahmed. Shakil-Aqib and Zeeshan are in the list of all-rounders. The batsmen are Kashyap Prajapati, Naseem Khushi, Pratik Athavale and Ayan Khan.

Reserves are Jatinder Singh, Samoy Srivastava, Sufian Mehmood and Joy Odedara.

Oman is in ‘B’ group in the World Cup. Where their opponents are Australia, England, Namibia and Scotland. Oman will play the first match of the World Cup in Barbados on June 2.
