Panel discussions on the Middle Corridor began as part of the annual meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Tbilisi, Georgia, Day.Az reports with reference to Trend.

During the session on “Enhancing Connectivity: European Connectivity Corridor (Renewable Energy and Digital Connectivity) (Reshaping Euro-Asian Connectivity)”, participants will explore the potential of the Middle Corridor to stimulate economic growth and regional integration by revitalizing historic trade routes and offering strategic alternatives for trade between Europe and Asia.

Azerbaijan is represented at the event by the Minister of Finance, member of the ADB Board of Governors Samir Sharifov.

Note that the theme of the 57th annual meeting, which will be held from May 2 to 5, is “Bridge to the Future.”

The first meeting of the Board of Governors will take place on May 4. The opening will mark the official start of the annual meeting. This is an event attended by honored guests from the host country. ADB President Masatsugu Asakawa and Georgian Finance Minister and Chairman of the ADB Board of Governors Lasha Khutsishvili will make statements.

The annual meeting provides ADB Governors with an opportunity to consider development issues and challenges facing the Asia-Pacific region. The meeting is regularly attended by several thousand participants, including finance ministers, central bank governors, senior government officials, representatives of the private sector, representatives of international and civil society organizations, youth, academia and the media.
