Registration for social judges takes place from May 2nd to May 31st

Any Portuguese citizen who is between 25 and 65 years old, knows how to read and write Portuguese, is in full enjoyment of civil and political rights, has not been convicted of or has been convicted of an intentional crime and is resident in the municipality where he/she will participate can be a social judge.

The appointment is made for a period of two years, starting on October 1st, with the outgoing social judges remaining in office until their replacements take office.

In accordance with the provisions of Decree-Law no. 156/78, of June 30, the municipal council at the headquarters of each court is responsible for organizing applications for social judges, informing the Ministry of Justice and sending the lists to the Court of Family and Minors.

Registration for residents of the municipality of Seixal can be done through one of the following options:

Filling in the electronic form available on Seixal City Council Online Services (registration required).

In person, at Seixal City Council / Lojas do Munícipe service points.
