Gérard Depardieu will stand trial in an assault case in October – Dagsavisen

by time news

Depardieu was released on Monday after being questioned about alleged sexual abuse, the actor’s lawyer says.

Depardieu (75) is a legend in the French film industry and has appeared in more than 200 films and TV series. In 2020, he was charged with rape in another case, and last autumn he had to put his career on hold because a large number of accusations were leveled against him.

He himself denies having done anything wrong.

According to French media, the police were to question the actor about two alleged sexual assaults on Monday, brought forward by two different women: One incident is said to have taken place during the filming of “Le Magicien et les Siamois” in 2014, the other on the set of the film “Les Volets verts” in 2021.

Afterwards, the state attorney’s office stated that Depardieu will be brought to trial in October in connection with events during the filming of the latter film.
