This reception, which was attended by around 250 guests, was enhanced by the presence of senior officials from the ministries of the Austrian federal government, parliamentarians, the president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Dean of diplomatic corps in Vienna, the presidents of Group 77 and the African Group and several ambassadors and permanent representatives.
Also present were senior officials within international organizations based in Vienna, representatives of the academic, economic, artistic and media worlds, and senior Moroccan executives working within international organizations in Vienna.
In a speech for the occasion, Mr. Farhane recalled the scope and significance of the celebration of the Throne Day, which symbolizes the symbiosis between the people and the throne and which constitutes a singular opportunity and a strong moment for the Moroccan people in together, to renew the bonds of allegiance to His Majesty the King and to express his unwavering attachment to the unity and fundamentals of the Moroccan nation.
He also highlighted the pioneering and profound reforms implemented by Morocco, under the impetus and visionary leadership of the Sovereign, in the political, economic and social fields, which allowed the Kingdom to “consolidate its democratic achievements and to build a diversified, resilient and competitive economy, and an open and dynamic society, thus forging unity and social cohesion.”
Furthermore, the ambassador highlighted the excellent relations between Morocco and Austria, two nations with a thousand-year history and which are celebrating, this year, the 240th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, highlighting the dynamic that bilateral relations are experiencing at all levels, which augurs “a prosperous phase in relations between the two countries, favoring the construction of an exemplary partnership and being part of the dynamics of relations and partnership between the Morocco and the EU”.
The diplomat also noted the role that Morocco plays, as an actor of peace and sustainable development, in favor of the promotion of regional stability and the promotion of international peace and security, through its contributions substantial and proactive initiatives within the United Nations and other international and regional organizations.
In the same sense, Mr. Farhane highlighted the African dimension of Moroccan diplomacy, highlighting the Royal Vision for a united, united and prosperous Africa, while reviewing the importance given by Morocco to sharing its experience with sister African countries within the framework of South-South cooperation and the effort made to strengthen win-win economic cooperation.
