The Ministry of Education proceeded to amend the ranking of Schools, Departments and Departments’ Introductory Directions in the Scientific Fields for the Panhellenic 2024.
In particular, according to a relevant announcement, the Minister of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports Kyriakos Pierrakakis signed the decision No. Φ.253/34565/Α5/4-4-2024, which modifies the classification of Schools, Departments and Introductory Courses of Departments in Scientific Fields, as follows:
1. In the Scientific Field of Humanities, Legal and Social Sciences, the Department of: Psychology (Double-edition) of the University of Athens is added with effect from the nationwide examinations of the year 2024.
2. In the Scientific Field of Positive and Technological Sciences is added: Permanent Non-Commissioned Officers of Aviation (SMYA) – Operational Support Direction – Radionauts Military Schools with effect from the nationwide examinations of the year 2025.
3. In the Scientific Field of Humanities, Law and Social Sciences, the Department of “Philosophical and Social Studies” of the University of Crete, based in Rethymno, is renamed to the Department of “Philosophy” and effective from the year 2024 nationwide exams.
Department of Psychology in Thrace
Also, the Weighting Factors of the nationally examined GEL courses for admission to the new Department of Psychology, in Didymoteicho, of the Democritus University of Thrace, were published today in the Government Gazette.
In particular, the department is included in the 1st Scientific field (Humanities, Legal and Social Sciences), with the following Weighting Factors:
MODERN GREEK LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE 25%. ANCIENT GREEK 25%. HISTORY 25%. LATIN 25%.
The mission of the Department of Psychology is the thorough theoretical training of students in the most important branches of Psychology, their familiarization with the basic principles and methods of psychological research, the development of their skills for the understanding and interpretation of human behavior, as well as the development and promotion of the science of Psychology at a national and international level.
The Department may organize first, second and third cycle study programs. The first study cycle is structured in eight (8) academic semesters.
