This Thursday (2), Goiás hosts Cuiabá, at 9:30 pm, at Hailé Pinheiro, in the first leg of the third phase of the Copa do Brasil.
The emerald team only debuts in the competition after winning the Copa Verde in 2023. Led by coach Márcio Zanardi, formerly of São Bernardo, in whom Corinthians had an interest at the beginning of the year, Goiás had a good start in Series B.
They drew the first game and are coming off a victory against Ponte Preta. Régis and Messias have muscle problems and will be absent.
Cuiabá eliminated Portuguesa-RJ, on penalties, to reach the third phase. Dourado is the only team that did not score points in this year’s Brasileirão. The defeat at the weekend against Atlético-MG led to the dismissal of Luiz Fernando Iubel, assistant who was in interim command of the team.
Cuiabá is still in the market looking for a coach. The match will be broadcast on Prime Video.
