A controversy arose after a famous brand of canned beer produced a thick mucus like snot.

According to JTBC’s ‘Case Manager’ on the 3rd, informant A discovered mucus-like mucus in a can of beer purchased at a warehouse-type hypermarket last month.

Mr. A purchased three boxes of 24 cans of beer and stored them in the refrigerator. Recently, he opened one can and was surprised to see yellow slime flowing out while pouring it into a glass.

He smelled the slime, but there was no specific smell.

As a result of checking the production date of the beer contained in the same box, it started with the same product number. It is assumed that abnormal products may be mixed in among the remaining beers.

In an interview with the media, Mr. A said, “(The mucus flowing down from the canned beer) looked like a snot at first, but over time it became like snot.”

Mr. A complained to the headquarters that manufactured the beer. The head office representative explained that there may have been a problem during the loading and unloading process of the product. If air enters a crack created by dropping a can during the distribution process, air and protein may meet to form this type of slime.

However, Mr. A said that there were no dents in the can. The manufacturer told me to throw away the beer I had purchased and brought me a new beer of the same brand.

Cha Yun-hwan, a doctor in food and biotechnology, looked at the beer in question and said, “It appears that the thickener or other protein ingredients were not mixed properly. It is not toxic, but it seems that the manufacturer needs to take action.”

This is not the first time there has been controversy over the mucilage in beer. On the 27th of last month, netizen B posted a post on an online community titled, ‘Mucus like snot comes out of beer.’ It is known that Mr. B also purchased the same brand of beer that Mr. A purchased.

Mr. B said, “The same slime came out of the beer twice recently. “I feel uncomfortable,” he said. In the attached photo, a highly viscous liquid is flowing out of the beer can.

In the comments, several netizens said they witnessed the same situation when drinking the brand’s beer. Another netizen also explained that the manufacturing date was last March.
