HSV won the city derby against St. Pauli. But what happens next for the Hanseatic League? After the game, sports director Jonas Boldt spoke about his future – and a rumor that was circulating.

The 1-0 derby win against FC St. Pauli brought collective relief to Hamburger SV. The “Rothosen” ultimately deservedly won 1-0 against their city rivals. Robert Glatzel’s goal came just before the end.
“It’s nice that it was rewarded in the end,” commented HSV sports director Jonas Boldt after the final whistle on his team’s victory. The home team could have taken the lead earlier, but referee Matthias Jöllenbeck denied HSV a goal in the first half – a questionable decision.
Boldt also saw it that way: “For me there is 0.0 to discuss, it is inexplicable that no help is coming,” he complained about the inadequate intervention of the video assistant, who did not send Jöllenbeck to the monitor after a check. “They will have communicated. But I think everyone saw that he was stumbling in his feet. We have that week after week.”
Boldt on his future: “I have a contract”
Regardless of this, striker Robert Glatzel ultimately brought HSV onto the winning path. Promotion is still possible, although quite unlikely with two games remaining and a four-point deficit to Fortuna Düsseldorf. “The hope is unbroken,” said Boldt.
The 42-year-old also spoke about his own future. Boldt has recently come under increasing criticism. His replacement in the summer did not seem impossible. But now he reacted clearly: “I’m the sports director, I work with the people here. It’s a lot of fun.” He also emphasized that he still has a contract.
Magath? “Knows he has a passion for the club”
Media reports that Felix Magath could take over a leading position at HSV, possibly even Boldt’s position, and that he already has a plan for the club’s new beginning were also not ignored by Hamburg’s sports director: “I know that Felix has a passion for the club. Many people know “It’s not like I almost worked with him ten years ago. Since then, I’ve always been in contact with him, even over the years here at HSV.”
Magath always made his help available, said Boldt. But he hasn’t spoken to the former master coach recently. Then he added meaningfully: “You have to be a little careful about what is being said.”
