The President of the Iraqi Football Association, Adnan Darjal, met today, Thursday, with the coaching and administrative staff and players of the Olympic team before its confrontation with its Indonesian counterpart, which will be held today at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium in the match to determine the third and fourth places in the Asian qualifying competitions for the Paris Olympics.
Darjal said in a statement received by the (INA): “Today’s match is extremely important, because winning it qualifies you to snatch a qualification ticket to the Paris Olympics, and you deserve to have your names recorded in the distinguished history of our football.”
He added: “We trust in the capabilities of the coaching staff led by Radhi Shenaishil, and in your technical capabilities to achieve victory after you played wonderful matches in the tournament, but that requires you to be calm, focused, and enthusiastic, and to carry out your duties brilliantly.”
The Federation President pointed out, “There is no easy match, and the competitor is a respectable team, but you are able to make your people happy, who are waiting for you to win, and to represent our football and Arab and Asian football in the Olympics.”
