jpnn.com – JAKARTA – West Sumatra community figure Marhadi Effendi hopes that the Constitutional Court (MK) will have the courage to decide on the implementation of the re-voting (PSU) for the DPD RI election for the electoral district (dapil) of West Sumatra.

According to the man who is also Deputy Chairman of PW Muhammadiyah, the KPU’s attitude in not including Irman Gusman in the permanent candidate list (DCT) not only violates the constitutional rights of a citizen, but also creates disappointment in the people of West Sumatra.

“Thousands of residents from various regions in West Sumatra are disappointed by the absence of Irman Gusman’s name in the DCT,” said Marhadi, Thursday (2/5).

Marhadi said that Irman Gusman was a citizen and figure of West Sumatra who could carry and fight for the aspirations of the people of West Sumatra.

“Moreover, Irman is a member of Muhammadiyah, a large mass organization in West Sumatra,” he said.

Marhadi regretted the KPU’s non-compliance with the PTUN decision which granted Irman Gusman’s lawsuit.

According to Marhadi, as a result of the KPU’s attitude, the implementation of the DPD RI elections for the West Sumatra electoral district became invalid. “Because the PTUN stated that the DCT made by the KPU was invalid, and asked for a new DCT to be made including the name Irman Gusman,” he said.

General Chairperson of Bundo Kanduang, West Sumatra Province, Prof. Rauda Thaib also said the same thing.

Will the Constitutional Court decide to carry out a re-vote in the DPD RI elections for the West Sumatra electoral area?
