In Azerbaijan, all conditions have been created for the dignified performance of the media function of preparing objective and impartial information arising from public interests, both on socio-political and legal grounds.
As Day.Az reported on Friday with reference to Trend, this was stated by the executive director of the Azerbaijan Media Development Agency, Ahmed Ismailov, during a speech at the forum on the topic “Social processes in the media plane”, held on May 3.
According to him, President Ilham Aliyev, as a rule, has always highly appreciated the role of the media as one of the main sources of information about events occurring in society, and has always emphasized that he attaches great importance to its function of public control.
He emphasized that thanks to today’s forum, the foundation of new experience is being laid in terms of trends arising from modern requirements and the pace of development of Azerbaijani media, as well as society’s expectations from the media. The forum, dedicated to the topic “Social Processes in the Media Plane,” is designed both for the effective organization of dialogue between the state and the media, and for increasing the function of the media in providing society with socially significant information to a more effective level.
“The creation of a dialogue between the state and the media, which is of practical importance, arose at the same time as a social order of society. From the point of view of preventing the emergence of a disinformation vacuum in public opinion, preventing pollution of the information environment of our country, ensuring dialogue between the state and the media based on professional principles and on an ongoing basis is of an exceptional nature,” added A. Ismailov.
It should be noted that a forum on the topic “Social processes in the media plane” is being held in Baku, organized by the Azerbaijan Media Development Agency.
During the event, panel sessions will be organized on the topics “Correct use of media in the fight against drug addiction”, “Correct coverage of social problems in the media, as well as sensitive topics such as domestic violence and early marriage”, “Effective fight against cyberbullying in the media and cyber education ” and “Media Agenda for the Year of Solidarity for a Green World.”
