The delegation of our junior handball team left at dawn today, Sunday, heading to Turkey to participate in the Mediterranean Championship, which is hosted by the capital, Ankara, for the period from May 6 to 12.
A statement by the game federation received by the (INA) stated, “The delegation consisted of Ahmed Riyad as president, Reda Al-Jaroush as supervisor, and the training staff consisting of Tunisian Hossam Bannour and his assistants, Mukhles Abdel Abbas, Kamal Abdel Wahed, Wissam Fadel, coach of the goalkeepers, Dr. Falah Hassan for physical preparation and analysis, and Wameed Khaled.” Doctor, Ali Mazboub, therapist, Hossam Abdel Reda, media coordinator, and (18) players: Hussein Aqeel, Abbas Adel, Taha Farqad, goalkeeper, and Mohamed Louay, Musa Al-Kazem, Ali Abdel-Amir, Abdel-Rahman Aws, Mohamed Kamal, Sajjad Amer, Nasser Hamoudi, Mohamed Uday, Muammel Shawqi, Abbas Hussein, Reda Ali, Zaid Noman, Muammel Raouf, Muhammad Muthanna, Ali Muhammad.”
He stated, “This participation comes in preparation for the Asian World Cup qualifying tournament, which will be held in Iran next September.”
He continued, “Our team will play its first match in the tournament tomorrow, Monday, against the Romanian national team at eleven-thirty in the morning, and will play its second match in the evening of the same day against Kosovo at seven-forty-five minutes. On Tuesday, it will meet France at two-thirty in the afternoon, and on Wednesday it will play two matches against… Tunisia at 11:30 am, and Montenegro at 5:15 pm, while our team will meet Croatia on Thursday at 10:00 am, and will play its last match with the tournament host, Turkey, on Friday at 11:30 am.”
