Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman has died

Washington: Ivan Reitman, director and producer of several comedy films, including Ghostbusters, has died at the age of 75. The death occurred Saturday night at his home in Montecito, California.

Reitman was born in Czechoslovakia. His family fled to Canada following communist repression. There he trained in filmmaking. In 1978, the success of the humorous film National Lampoons Animal House marked a turning point in his career. His major films include Meatballs, Stripes, Twins, Kindergarten Cope, and Junior.
