The spark that lit the fuse for the embarrassing incidents in the finale of Fenerbahce’s Game 4 with Monaco between the Turkish team’s fans and the Monegasque players appears to have been started by a fan who made the “I’ll cut your throat” gesture at Diallo .

The end of Fenerbahce’s Game 4 against Monaco saw the home fans take to the pitch and this lead to a scuffle with the players of the triumphant visitors. The moments that unfolded were embarrassing, Mike James lunging at the son of Fener’s chairman, Saša Obradovic trying to protect his players.

But how did all this begin? There was tension throughout the game, with Fenerbahce fans cursing and throwing objects. But what appears to have been the final straw was a fan’s gesture to Alfa Diallo, around 18 seconds before the end of the match, where he indicated he was going to cut the Monaco forward’s throat.
