The amount of investment approved during this commission is increased to nearly 60% by Moroccan companies, thus confirming that the new investment charter mainly benefits national companies, specifies the same source.
The main sectors concerned are agri-food and tourism, which respectively represent 35% and 25% of the total amount approved, followed by waste treatment at 9% and logistics which represents 6%. Other sectors concerned include medical devices, the pharmaceutical industry, energy, aquaculture, chemicals/parachemistry, electronics, automobiles and textiles.
Concerning the jobs created, the agri-food sector is the main provider of jobs for the projects approved during this CNI with the creation of more than 9,000 direct and indirect jobs, or more than 56% of the total, followed by tourism, up to 13% and the pharmaceutical industry up to 8%.
During the meeting, the Head of Government assured that supporting national private investment and job creation constitute a priority of the government, in accordance with the High Guidelines of HM King Mohammed VI. Mr. Akhannouch also recalled that all the stakeholders concerned remain mobilized to perpetuate the observed dynamic, which is necessary for the economic recovery of our country.
