The drug lord from the recent past Stefan Bonev-Sacco got away with freedom for Easter. This showed a check of “24 hours”.

Sacco, 61, went behind bars last year. Two of the cases against him were then closed. He was charged with both as the head of a criminal drug distribution group. He was arrested once in 2010 and again in 2012. Sacco was a client of specialist justice, but ultimately his sentences were delayed by over 10 years. He ended up going to prison for 4 years, with more than half of that time spent in pre-trial detention. He pleaded guilty to one of the cases.

He is one of the few leaders of major drug gangs to go to prison. Mityo Ochite served 5 years, and Zlatko Barettata was convicted, but it turned out that he served his sentence under house arrest.

Now he is on a light regimen in the dormitory in Kremikovtsi. He has 10 months left, but two weeks before Easter, at the end of April, he applied to the court for an early release from prison. Good behavior, lack of punishment, work behind bars are just some of his reasons for asking for a shorter stay. Sako also had to take care of his minor daughter. He realized his past mistake and promised not to commit crimes again.

However, the court rejected his request, despite its positive features as imprisonment.
