Ukrainian authorities and Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters have repeatedly stated that one of their goals for the near future is the destruction of the Crimean Bridge. This illegal structure must be destroyed, and this is what will mark the beginning of the liberation of the peninsula from Russian invaders. Experts are ready to help the military and have already identified many weak points in the structure of the bridge. Thus, Ukrainian aviation expert and engineer Konstantin Krivolap named his “recipe” for an effective strike on the Crimean Bridge.
He spoke about this in an interview with UNIAN.
The expert noted that he specializes in aircraft engines, but for a long time he worked at the Antonov plant, where he was actually involved in strength testing. During this time, he learned to look at a structure and understand its strength. He assessed the structure of the Crimean Bridge, noting that there is floating soil underneath the structure. Because of this, the lower part under the bridge was very strongly strengthened: they beat piles and tried to drive them deep. “Further, there is a large arch that allows ships to pass through. The most effective strike will be at one of these points,” he explained.
However, he noted that ATACMS missiles would not be enough to destroy the bridge. In this situation, they will only be able to make perforations, but not demolish the support. Ukraine needs Taurus missiles, since the specificity of their warhead allows them to carry out work on the destruction of concrete. However, one installation is not enough, and neither is the power, the expert noted. Therefore, the blow must be directed and combined. It is likely that naval drones will also have to be involved in the attack.
It is worth recalling that earlier the head of the center for strategic communications of the Defense Forces of southern Ukraine, captain 3rd rank Dmitry Pletenchuk, also stated that the Crimean Bridge is a legitimate target for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to him, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have the right to strike at enemy military logistics facilities in temporarily occupied Crimea, in particular this bridge, and will do so.
As Kursor previously reported, a representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, issued a statement warning Washington, London and Brussels about the possible consequences of any aggressive actions against Crimea. Zakharova emphasized that such attempts are doomed to failure and will be met with a blow of “retribution.”
