jpnn.comATTACK – The Indonesian U-23 National Team will play against Guinea in the play-off match for tickets to the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Vice President Ma’ruf Amin is optimistic that the Indonesian U-23 National Team can beat the Guinean U-23 National Team in the match which will take place in France on May 9.

He hopes that the Garuda Muda players who are fitter can win the match.

“Therefore, we hope that later in the play off, we hope that because we are fitter, we hope that we will certainly win the match,” said Vice President Ma’ruf in a press statement after attending the “Silaturahim Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijriah Regional Committee for Sharia Economics and Finance (KDEKS) Banten Province” at the An-Nawawi Tanara Islamic Boarding School, Serang Regency, Banten, Saturday (4/5).

The defeat of the Iraqi U-23 National Team in the match for third place in the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup in Qatar meant that Garuda Muda’s path to the 2024 Paris Olympics had to be determined through a play-off against Guinea.

The Vice President also thought that Iraq’s defeat was due to a lack of luck because the game was actually balanced.

“I don’t think it actually lost to Iraq, it was just unlucky. The game was actually just a draw, right,” said Ma’ruf.

The Vice President also said that the stamina factor, according to the Indonesian U-23 national team coach Shin Tae-yong, was also the cause of Garuda Muda’s defeat to Iraq.
