With a diverse program that includes lectures, cultural performances, artistic exhibitions, a quilombola themed fair, conversation circles, data launches and social initiatives, in addition to the mobilization of a march that will leave from the event’s headquarters space to the National Congress, in Brasília, Aquilombar seeks to explore the connections between the past, present and future, highlighting the importance of cultural roots in building a more inclusive and sustainable tomorrow, which is why its second edition carries the theme “Ancestralizing the Future”.
By bringing together community leaders, activists, intellectuals, artists and other supporters of the quilombola cause, the event creates a space conducive to debates, exchanges of ideas and concrete actions aimed at empowering these historically marginalized communities. In this way, Aquilombar stands out as a milestone in the fight to preserve the quilombola identity and in the construction of a fairer and more equitable future for these communities, reinforcing the importance of respect for Brazil’s cultural and ethnic diversity.
Take part in this unmissable meeting that will inspire, provoke reflection and celebrate the richness of Brazilian quilombola cultural diversity. Conaq invites everyone to join this journey of rescuing and valuing our origins towards a more promising future, guaranteeing the rights of the quilombola people who have been fighting for centuries to restore their dignity.
