The General Authority for Hajj and Umrah Affairs announced the launch of the activities of the awareness forum for coordinators and supervisors accompanying pilgrims in the coordination of the Eastern Region for this year’s Hajj season.
A week ago, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Hajj and Umrah Affairs, Sabri Al-Bouaishi, announced that the National Unity Government would cover the entire cost of Hajj for Libyan citizens, amounting to $8,000 per pilgrim.
Al-Bouaishi explained during an interview with Libya Al-Ahrar channel that these costs include air and land transportation, accommodation in five-star hotels near the Two Holy Mosques in Mecca and Medina, in addition to ticket, visa, subsistence, and gift fees.
Al-Bouaishi confirmed that flights will start on June 1 of this year from various Libyan airports, pointing out that 550 seats have been allocated for residents of areas affected by the floods, and 1,050 seats for the families of martyrs and missing persons, out of Libya’s total quota for this season, which amounts to 7,800 pilgrims.
The Deputy Chairman of the Hajj Authority indicated that there are preparations to hold the electronic lottery for the 2025 Hajj season, which will include willing citizens from all regions of Libya.
A week ago, the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, during a meeting with the Presidency of the Authority and its members, confirmed the procedures for the pilgrims selected from the people of Derna, and established a mechanism to begin the lottery procedures for next year.
Al-Dabaiba stressed the importance of providing good conditions for Libyan pilgrims and selecting supervisory and management personnel qualified to serve them.
