Kolkata: The India-Windsor T20 (INDvWI) series starts tomorrow. All the three matches will be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. India, captained by Rohit Sharma, are confident of sweeping the ODI series. In the absence of KL Rahull, Ishant Kishan and Ruthuraj Gaikwado may be Rohit’s opening partners.

The team also includes Venkatesh Iyer, Avesh Khan and Herschelle Patel. In the absence of Jaspreet Bumra and Mohammad Shami, Mohammad Siraj will lead the bowling line-up. The BCCI has appointed Rishabh Pant as its vice-captain. India are second in the ICC Twenty20 rankings and the West Indies are seventh.

A setback for India

Meanwhile, the injured Washington Sunder will not play in the series. According to BCCI sources, Sunder will be sidelined for three weeks with a hamstring injury. Sunder will move to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. Sunder was acquired by Hyderabad for Rs 8.75 crore in the IPL star auction.

Sunder played in all three matches of the ODI series against the Windies. Sunder scored 57 runs and took four wickets in the series. Sunder was replaced by Kuldeep Yadav. Yusvendra Chahal and Ravi Bishnoi are the other spinners in the team.
