jpnn.comJAKARTA – The film 13 Bombs in Jakarta has been ranked number 1 favorite film on the Netflix streaming platform since it was broadcast on April 30 2024.

This is an achievement in itself for original Indonesian films that can compete with foreign films on Netflix.

Apart from that, when it was screened in cinemas throughout Indonesia at the beginning of this year, the film 13 Bombs in Jakarta also managed to reach one million viewers in less than a month.

As well as being one of Indonesia’s box office films which received 100,000 viewers on the first day of its screening.

Oscar Darmawan, CEO of INDODAX, explained that this film is not just entertainment, but also a strong educational medium.

“This film is not only about spectacular actions, but also tells about how INDODAX, as part of the Indonesian crypto ecosystem, played a role in helping the country uncover one of the terrorism cases involving Bitcoin,” he said.

Oscar highlighted that the big challenges faced by INDODAX at that time were regulations related to crypto which were still immature, public understanding of blockchain technology was still minimal, and efforts to make a significant contribution in this case.

“We have struggled to build a crypto ecosystem in Indonesia from scratch, educating the public about blockchain technology and crypto, and pushing policies that allow crypto assets to grow and be legally regulated in Indonesia. When we started in 2015, the price of Bitcoin was still under 10 million,” he explained.

The film 13 Bombs in Jakarta is a concrete manifestation of INDODAX’s efforts to help develop the creative industry through film in Indonesia.
