Things are not going well in the rural commune of Kolenté! The presidents of the different districts of this locality reject outright the team put in place to temporarily manage the destiny of the rural commune. They accuse the Kolenté authorities of having concentrated everything at their level. These special delegation meets the 19 district presidents

It is to find a solution to this problem that the prefectural authorities invited the 15 district presidents to the urban center of Kindia. After an exchange of several hours with the sub-prefect in the absence of the prefect, these district presidents remained firm in their position. When questioned, Eldhadj Ali Camara, president of the Gomba Kabèlèyah district, gave the reasons for this standoff. “What sent us here today was the prefect who invited us to come and talk about what is happening in Kolenté. We are here today because the special delegation set up cannot do our business because if we have to share between three cantons it must be an equal sharing but if it turns out that the Canton of Gomba which in fifteen districts and these fifteen districts, there was no representative within the special delegation. We will say that they have made their choice, a choice only for the center of Kolenté. Yet they asked us to draw up our list. All the names we sent, they didn’t take them into account. Only the ones they want. We, the citizens of the Gomba districts, are no longer associated with the activities of Kolenté. This is why we said if the sub-prefect needs us, we will respond to his call but if it is this team of the special delegation, we will not come because they are not our authorities,” said he insisted.
These district presidents of Gomba, which nevertheless falls under the rural commune of Kolenté, do not want to give in despite the involvement of the authorities of the Kindia prefecture. Mamadouba Camara, also president of the Kondeyah-Gomba district, adds: “We are not at all for this special delegation from Kolenté because they betrayed us. If we can accept, there must be balance. If the president is from central Kolenté, the vice president must be from Gomba because we Gomba have 15 districts and Kolenté has 7. Without that, we cannot accept. There are even three people in this special delegation who are the same father, including the president of the special delegation, the vice-president and a member. Even the imams are in this special delegation. So how can this work? So, it is up to the prefect to find the solution because if there is no representative of Gomba in this municipal team who will be able to plead Gomba’s cause? We are not for this team.
