Doha announced that a Qatari delegation will head to Cairo today, Tuesday, to resume the ongoing negotiations in order to reach a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majid Al-Ansari said in a statement, “The Qatari delegation will head to Cairo to resume indirect negotiations between the two parties,” noting that “the negotiations are taking place through joint Qatari-Egyptian-American mediation.”
He added, “Doha hopes to reach an immediate and permanent ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, exchange prisoners and detainees, and bring humanitarian aid in a sustainable manner to all areas of the Strip.”
Al-Ansari confirmed that “Hamas sent the mediators a response to their proposals that they presented to the Zionist entity and the movement regarding the truce.”
The official Qatari statement came after Hamas announced its approval of their proposal regarding a ceasefire agreement.
On the other hand, the government of the Zionist entity announced that it was proceeding with the plan to invade Rafah, which was subjected to heavy bombardment after the occupation army asked the residents of its eastern neighborhoods to evacuate.
