SIEL 2024: the CCME unveils its programming under the theme “writing Morocco, telling the world”

This program is developed around four axes with around thirty activities in the presence of more than sixty speakers from Morocco, Belgium, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, the United States, the United Kingdom, from Qatar and Germany, indicates a CCME press release.

The first axis entitled “One book, one partner”, will present works co-published by the CCME and four publishing houses, namely, Langages du sud, la Croisée des chemins, Sochepress and Malika éditions, reports the same source, adding that on this occasion the books of Aomar Boum and Majdouline Boum Mendoza (The last rekkas, which appears in English, Arabic and French), Mohamed Métalsi (Tangier), Mouna Hachim (Cities and villages of Morocco, etymology, history and legends) and a translation into Arabic of the book by Fatiha Saidi (Echoes of memory on the Rif mountains).

The second axis consists of a “Carte blanche” offered to nine novelists, writers and researchers, who have decided on the theme they wish to discuss with two guests of their choice. Will be present for these carte blanche scheduled at the rate of one per day Ms. Chadia Arab, Hassnae Bouazza, Samira El Ayachi, Sondouss Chraïbi and MM. Kébir Mustapha Ammi, Mohamed El Morabet, Farid El Asri, Hassan Bousetta and Merouane Touali, specifies the press release.

As for the third axis, entitled “Just published”, it reflects the literary news of the past year by allowing the SIEL public to discover the latest novels by several authors including Laïla Bahsaïn (Ce que je sais de M. Jacques) , Nesrine Slaoui (Alone), Rim Najmi (Ms. Merkel’s secret lover), Khalid Lyamlahy (Evocation of a memorial in Venice), Zineb Mekouar (Remember the bees), Salma El Moumni (Farewell Tangier) and Karima Moual (The cold in Italy and other stories from an Italy born elsewhere).

During this edition, three exceptional “Previews” are scheduled at the Renaissance cinema in Rabat. It is a fiction film (Sisterhood, by Nora El Hourch), a documentary (Mora is there, by Khalid Zairi) and a play (Arrival by plane, by Nadia Benzakour), learn -on from the same source, noting that these previews are offered in partnership with 2MTV, La Prod, the Hiba Foundation, Egalitemag.com and the Higher Institute of Dramatic Art and Cultural Animation (ISADAC).

In parallel with these axes, signings are planned in particular with Jamal Belaharch (Toujours envie de Maroc), Taha Adnan (Lambeaux de l’apocalypse, collection of poetry) and Mohamed Métalsi (Tangier).

Likewise, a tribute will be paid to the late Lahcen Zinoun, who died recently, in partnership with the Circle of Belgian Laureates (CLB) and the Wallonia-Brussels General Delegation in Morocco, in addition to a round table organized with the Club of Journalists accredited to Morocco (CJAM) which will deal with the theme “Being a journalist today”, in the presence of Moroccan journalists from around the world and correspondents accredited in Morocco, concludes the press release.
